A Boy On The Road - The Story So Far (Update)

It's the 3rd of August 2015 and I'm still on the road, time for me to look back and [update]((http://aboyontheroad.com/2015/04/21/a-boy-on-the-road-the-story-so-far/) my travel statistics.

So far I traveled to eight countries: Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and the United States of America. I spent roughly two weeks in Uruguay, Chile and Peru and one month in Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia and the USA, totaling in 215 days on the road (or 30 weeks and 5 days, 31st of December 2014 until aforementioned 3rd of August 2015).

My travels started in the South of Uruguay, in Montevideo. I then crossed the Río de la Plata to Central Argentina. A sharp right turn and lots of hours in buses took me to the North-East corner of Argentina, to the Iguazu Falls. A short trip to Brazil was included, as well as a look at the three-frontier corner where I could get a glimpse of Paraguay. After that it was time to head West. Once I reached the Andes I went South until taking again a sharp right to get into Chile, first stop being Santiago. Crossing Chile East to West wasn't complicated, but the way North. A combination of traveling at the coast and inland did the trick. After that I circled into Bolivia and did a round trip there. I then crossed the border between Bolivia and Peru at Lake Titicaca. I crossed Peru from South to North to find myself in Guayaquil in Ecuador where I took a plane to the Galápagos Islands. From there I flew to Quito and traveled by bus deep into the South of Colombia. From Cali I took another plane which brought me to the Carribean Coast of Colombia. I then finally made my way to Bogotá where I took a plane back to Germany. But apparently I didn't stay there for long. After two weeks I boarded the next plane to San Francisco and so far I'm still exploring the Bay Area.

Let's look at some statistics. In total I covered a distance of 55,885 kilometers (~ 34,725 miles). This spreads over eleven trips by plane (35,295 kilometers or 21,931 miles), four ship cruises (330 kilometers or 205 miles), six journeys by train (1,385 kilometers or 861 miles), five road trips by car or motorcycle (4,650 kilometers or 2,889 miles) and forty-five journeys by bus (14,225 kilometers or 8,839 miles). Countless rides by Taxi, Micro, Colectivo, Remis, and so on are of course not counted in.
