Posadas and San Ignacio
During my trip from Buenos Aires to the waterfalls of Iguazu I decided to stop again at Posadas and San Ignacio (state of Misiones), mostly to cut the long distance into several manageable parts. Arriving from Rosario with an overnight bus, I had enough time to walk the Costanera in Posadas, an avenue running along the Río Paraná, and to visit San Ignacio Miní, the Jesuit Missions of the Guaranis, an UNESCO world heritage site. The ruins were built by Jesuits from Spain during the colonial period and were mostly inhabited by the indigenous population, the Guaranis.
