San Antonio de Areco - ¡Gaucho fiesta!

Welcome to beautiful San Antonio de Areco! This small town of about 20.000 inhabitants is only approximately 100 kilometers north of Buenos Aires, but already in the middle of nowhere. To be exact, in the middle of the Pampas. Thus Gaucho tradition is one of its key features. Although one day of my stay was filled with rain and thunderstorms I got my fair share of Gauchos, Pulperias and Lomo. The town is really relaxed, of course there is a siesta which is followed strictly, during that time the town is almost dead. But in the evening lots of people do sports, ride horses, or eat and drink in one of the many Pulperias. The small town is the best fit if you want to get out of Buenos Aires and experience some nature and Gaucho tradition.
