Tigre and the Paraná Delta
Tigre is just a few kilometers north of Buenos Aires and borders the Paraná Delta. With a length of 4500 kilometers the Rio Paraná is the second longest stream in South America. The water masses are so tremendous that even container ships can go as far as Rosario and even further. The river discharges into the Río de la Plata just about 10 kilometers South of Tigre. Tigre itself is home to about 30.000 Argentinians and consists of several interconnected canals. By train it takes only about 1 hour to reach it. From there a lot of lanchas depart for tours through the Delta. I did a day-trip to Tigre and the Paraná Delta to get out of the city and see some nature.
